February 2022 Session: Featured Storytellers

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to host the next Intro Nashville session in February featuring a variety of topics, community leaders and unique venues.

In this multi-day, immersive program, Intro Nashville participants establish new friendships, new ideas, new networks and new perspectives from a diverse group of people within our growing community. Intro Nashville was born to help individuals and teams make their dreams a reality.

Opening Reception: Featuring former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean as the keynote speaker. Mayor Dean will be discussing pivotal moments in Nashville history and the unique characteristics of the region.

Day 2: “It” City?: This day will focus on illustrating how Nashville was built on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship by highlighting our region’s key industries. Featured storytellers include:

  • Moderator #1: Jim Schmitz, Elliott Davis

  • Moderator #2: Scott Carey, Baker Donelson

  • Hospitality & Tourism Industry: Sherry Franklin, Renaissance Nashville Hotel

  • Music & Entertainment Industry: Shannon Sanders, BMI

  • Healthcare Industry: Dee Anna Smith, Sarah Cannon Research Institute

  • Manufacturing Industry: John Aron, The Pasta Shoppe

  • Financial Industry: Rob McCabe, Pinnacle Financial Partners

Day 3: Athens of the South This day will explore the role of consolidated government and discuss big policy decisions that shaped our region. It will also highlight the breadth of educational options in the region, illustrate the importance of deep prosperity and explain the talent pipeline in Middle Tennessee. Featured storytellers include:

  • PreK-12th Grade & Higher Edu Moderator: Katie Cour, Nashville Public Education Foundation

  • PreK - 12 Education: Dr. Ricki Gibbs, Warner Arts Magnet Elementary

  • Higher Education: President Shanna L. Jackson, Nashville State Community College

  • Workforce Development & Finding Talent Moderator: Nancy Eisenbrandt, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce

  • Finding Talent: Brittany Sever, Asurion

  • Public Service & Safety Moderator: Rep. Harold Love, Jr., Tennessee General Assembly

  • Public Service & Safety, Chief John Drake, Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County

  • State, Regional & Metro Government Moderator: Nathan Green, Vanderbilt University

  • State Government: Secretary of State Tre Hargett, State of Tennessee

  • Regional Government: Mayor Randall Hutto, Wilson County

  • Metro Government: Councilmember Burkley Allen, Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County

Day 4: Find Your Rhythm in Music City: This day will highlight Nashville’s creative spirit, cultural assets, and instill a commitment to community engagement. Featured storytellers include:

  • Moderator: Tim Ozgener, OZ Arts Nashville

  • Culinary & Arts: Tom Morales, TomKats Hospitality

  • Cultural Diversity: David Ewing, Nashville History On Tour

  • Volunteering & Community Involvement: Buddy Teaster, Soles4Souls

  • Sports: Tina Tuggle, Tennessee Titans
